Mayor John Wise in late 2007 started an Agriculture Initiative to explore solutions to help develop and keep the agriculture industry on the Enumclaw Plateau. In November 2007, the City hosted an Agriculture Summit in the Fieldhouse at the Enumclaw Expo Center, where 51 participants, representing farmers, government, and education gathered and discussed several topics related to agriculture.
